Yes. If you own your own business/self employeed, you are eligible for "group of one" plans. Some insurance companies underwriters are more liberal than others so it is worth looking into several plans. A good agent will continue to shop insurance plans for you.

Typically, how long does it take to obtain medical insurance?
An idividual policy takes anywhere from 2-4 weeks. Group polices usually take a bit shorter depending on the amount of business the insurance company has at at that time. Short Term insurance coverage usually takes 5-14 days.
